I love bowling

Last night, it came through my mind the bowling game that I played before. I mostly play it when hubby and I were together, it's either we are in the Philippines or in Holland, we don't miss the chance to play this game. I never thought that I will like this game and consider it as my all time favorite. When I first play this game, I was hesitant to play it because I don't know how. I remembered those times that my colleagues at work laugh at me every time I threw the ball because I can't hit any of those 10 pins. Those times challenge me to practice more, I never aim to be a good player, but just to hit at least one of those 10 pins. But practice makes me better and I started to enjoy and like it. And now I can hit more than one pins and sometimes got strikes.

These pictures were taken on the time that hubby and I went to Shopping mall in Scheveningen, Netherlands. Next to the mall is a huge beach that hubby and I mostly visit during our free time.

Golf is fun

One of the exciting games that I’ve done last year was the miniature golf in Netherlands. It was my first time to play with that game and I got excite with it because during my first hit of the ball it directly went through the Golf Platzreife. Isn’t that amazing for a first timer like me? Since I experience already on how to play a miniature golf, I was planning that when I visit again in Netherlands; I want to try to play the normal golf game. Of course I can’t play that alone because I’m pretty sure that hubby and my in-laws wants to join also in playing golf. Through playing the miniature golf, it gives me some idea already on how to play it and what exactly the main goal of it. I started to familiarize some equipment that we used in the game. And when hubby and I visit in one of the golf shop, I know a bit already the uses of some things that they displayed. Since I’m a petite lady, I wanted to use a Golfschläger that is small, light in weight and handy then, it’s easy for me to hit the ball through the Golf Platzreife.

Golf is fun and challenging game because in every hit of your ball, you need to aim for something to reach your goal.

Nuestra Seňora Virgen dela Regla Parish

Every time I visit here in Cebu, I always visit this Nuestra Seňora Virgen dela Regla Parish to light a candle. It becomes a routine already for me to visit this Parish church. And so this time that I’m here in Cebu again, I don’t want to miss the opportunity to visit this Church and I got the chance to take a picture inside the church and the outside too. This Nuestra Sra. Virgen dela Regla Parish has a small park besides it where mostly family, friends or lovers hang out before and after they attend the mass.

History:

Our Lady of the Rule also known as the Nuestra Señora Virgen De Regla was the title given to our Blessed Virgin Mary by the natives of Cebu who believe that the prosperity they enjoy is a blessing achieved through the strength of her maternal intercession.

The devotion to Our Lady of the Rule was started by St. Augustine, the bishop of Hippo In Northern Africa. He has carved an image of Our Lady by using his own hands which was one of the relics that has survived the destruction of the city of Hippo. Upon Augustine's death, the monks fled to Spain, taking the image with them. In Spain, the image has done miracles and survived the destruction and pillage of the Moors, because of this, the devotion to Our Lady rapidly spread.

1330, the Virgin appeared to an Augustinian monk and instructed him to go to the city of Cadiz and look for a cave where the image had been hidden away. He was instructed to dig up and found a hidden underground altar. There, the statue of Our Lady of the Rule has been permanently enshrined.

The devotion was transported to the Philippines in the 18th century, when the Augustinian Order was given control over the parish of Opon,(now,Lapu-Lapu City,Cebu]. The people of Cebu first saw the picture of the Virgen de la Regla in 1735, when the parish priest , Francisco Avalle, showed it to them. The people of Opon instantly developed a liking for the new patroness.

The Virgen de Regla of Cebu was canonically crowned on November 27, 1954 during the First Marian Congress of the Archdiocese of Cebu. The Our Lady of the Rule image carved from the trunk of dark Philippine hardwood, was installed at the main altar of Our Lady of the Rule Church in Lapu-Lapu City. The church was under the administration of the Agustinians from 1730 to 1929. The Dutch congregation took over the church from 1929 onwards.

Useful Garage

A friend of mine owns a motorcycle as their private transportation. They enjoy having this personal service because it's not so hassle for them for the traffic jam and it's very handy. Any time that they want to buy something, they can easily leave without time-consuming in waiting for the public transportation. However, their main concern is the security of their private service. They live in an area where there are many neighborhoods and of course we can't fully trust all the people around us. They wanted to have a security for there motorcycle and that they can ensure that it's safe and no one will touch or steal it while they are inside the house or not at home. She asked me if I have some ideas about it and so I tried to gather some information to be able to help her. And I come up with the idea of having a motorcycle garage, a secured place for your motorcycle and if ever you own a motorbike, you can avail also a motorbike garage. Having this kind of garage is very helpful for those people who own a service because you can guarantee that your service is secured and safe, no more worries that it might be stolen by some stranger.

Musical Clock and Street Organ Museum

Photobucket

These musical clocks and street organ museum that we visited was unique and impressive clock and organ collection that I ever see. There were many clocks and organs that were displayed from hundred years ago. Those old musical clock looks more unique than the modern clock that we used at this time, but the main purpose in those entire clocks is to give the time. A Musical clock is a clock that marks the hours of the day with a musical tune played from a spiked cylinder, either on bells, organ pipes, bellows, combs and even dulcimer strings.

And talking about the street organs that I saw there, I was really amazed to see a unique and big organ with beautiful and colorful design on it. And when the tour guide tested the organ, wow! It's very loud music. A street organ is a mechanical organ designed to play in the street. The operator of a street organ is called an organ grinder. The two main type are the smaller German style and the larger Dutch street organ. Dutch street organs (unlike the simple street organ) are large organs that play book music. Before I visit in this museum, I saw this street organ already in some city of Netherlands; they played mostly in a crowded place.

These Musical Clocks and Street Organ Museum is located at Utrecht, Netherlands.
